Heart Shaped Card

THese heart shaped cards were a big hit with my friends so I thought I would share the instructions.

Supplies -
8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch rectangle of card stock for the base
4 inch square of Whisper White
Scraps of Designer Series paper and other coordinating colors of card stock
Big Shot
Hearts Framelits
Fashionable Hearts embosslits
Embellishments like riboon, jewels, brads, buttons.
Smooch Spritz (Optional)

Fold the rectangle of card stock in half like a card. Place the edge of the largest smooth edge heart framelit on the card stock so that one of the straight edges of the heart overlaps the fold in the card stock.

This shows the back of the card stock with the framelit cutting edge extended past the fold of the card stock. Place the card stock and framelit on the Big Shot and run it through to cut out the card base. If done correctly the card will open up and looked like two connected hearts.

Using the next smaller heart framelit, I cut a pattern from the cardboard that comes in the back of the Designer Series paper packages. Trace around the pattern on the Whisper White square. This will help you to know you have enough Designers Series paper to make the patchwork heart but also able to conserve the paper a little.

Cut the scraps of Designer Series paper into narrow strips and arrange them on the heart until you have a design you like. Adhere them with snail adhesive.
Using the framelit, cut a heart smaller than the card front.

Using the coordinating card stock, make some embossed hearts to decorate the the heart. Add ribbon, buttons, jewels, anything you like. Adhere to the card front.
Spritz with smooch if desired.

Here is my finished heart card.

The sheer Lucky Limeade ribbon is one of the Sale-a-bration items this year - starts January 24th.

The tiny pearls add a little feminine touch - I love the jewels.
