Choose a stamp set that has lots of open areas. Flower Fest is a good one. These are the stamps I chose.
I used Black Stazon ink and randomly stamped over a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 Very Vanilla card stock. I always use the largest stamp first and work my way down to the smallest.
This is the piece with all the designs stamped. Be sure to fill in all areas. Let it set for a few minutes to be sure it is dry so the ink does not smear in the next step.
Choose an ink color for one of the designs and rub it onto the design using a sponge. I used Tempting Turquoise for the 5 petal flower stamp in my design. The idea is to add color abstractly - coloring outside the lines.
Continue with the other stamps. I used Rich Razzleberry for the large flower, Tangerine Tango for the butterfly. You can see that the colors overlap.
I used Old Olive for the stem of leaves and the random single leaf. I try to fill in all areas with some color.
I wanted some accents for the card so I did some individual flowers and burnished them with Tempting Turquoise also.
Cut the 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet into smaller pieces to use on card fronts. For this one I used the 1/8 inch taffeta ribbon in Rich Razzleberry and mounted my floral piece on Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and a card base of Tangerine Tango. I love the way this turned out. So bright and cheerful.
